Nursery Rhymes are the first introduction to literature for the child. They are part of the rich oral tradition of any culture that help pass on traditions, customs and popular beliefs from one generation to the next. Because of the changing lifestyles in our culture, the oral tradition is no longer enough to preserve these rhymes. Slowly and surely they will be forgotten or left to scholarly books. To keep those rhymes alive it is important to present them in different modern media that children and young parents can relate to. "Ahazeej Al Tufoula Al Mubakira" published by Al Salwa Publishing House / Amman Jordan does just that. The aim of the project is to preserve these rhymes and make them accessible to young parents of today. The hope is that these rhymes will bring joy to children and become part of their childhood memories so that they in turn will pass them on to the next generation.
